De-risk your CEIS obligations and save your team time
Employers need to give casuals a Casual Employment Information Statement (CEIS) when they start, again at 6 and 12 months, and then every year after that.
For a company with hundreds or thousands of casual employees, managing all those dates manually is a massive time-sink and a legal risk.
We’ve got you covered. We handle any document updates and all the automated resends, so you can get back to business.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Casual Employment Information Statement (CEIS)?
The CEIS is a document outlining employment conditions for casual staff, including the definition of casual employment and the pathway to becoming permanent. Read more about it on the Fair Work website.
When must I give the CEIS to a new employee?
A CEIS must be provided to new casual employees before, or as soon as possible after, they have started employment. It must also be provided to casual employees at the following times during the employment relationship:
- for small business employers – after 12 months of employment
- for other employers – after 6 and 12 months of employment, and then after every 12 months of employment.
To provide the highest degree of compliance coverage, CheckWorkRights standardises this process to a 6 monthly reissue for all employees with this check enabled.
What happens if I don't meet this requirement?
Failing to provide the CEIS to your casual employees is a breach of the Fair Work Act 2009 and can lead to legal and regulatory action including financial penalties.
What is the experience like for our candidates and employees?
When a check is requested, employees/candidates receive the same personalised, secure link to a mobile-friendly portal issued for all of our other check types. This unified dashboard provides a single point of contact for all checking requirements. They can upload documents for other check requirements and complete the CEIS process in one place without needing to create accounts or logins. For ongoing renewals, they get proactive, automated reminders, making it easy to stay compliant. Our consistent and reliable workflow caters to tens of thousands of candidates each month, and ensures hiring success at scale. See more about candidate experience.
What specific ATS & HRIS platforms do you integrate with?
We offer pre-built integrations for major platforms like Workday, Dayforce, SmartRecuiters and more. We also support custom integrations via our API for multi-system workflows from recruitment, to payroll and rostering.
Our two-way integrations provide your existing platforms with up-to-date check results, and update CWR in the event of a change in employee role or location. This allows CheckIntelligence to be triggered by status changes in your ATS or HRIS and to react to employee profile changes.
